We appreciate the service of our young men and women and want to help let them know everyone back home cares about them. It’s a small gesture, but having served in the Marine Corps, I can tell you that any gesture of support from back home goes a long way.

Many of our troops are eating the same meals day in and day out. The prepackaged meals, called MRE’s, only come in 24 versions and a lot of the troops will never see all 24 different ones. So, eating the same meals day in and day out can get old rather quickly. It probably goes without saying that these meals are not quite gourmet either.

If you’ve ever had the “opportunity” to eat an MRE, you know each one comes with tiny bottle of hot sauce. First, that bottle has about enough hot sauce in it to cover a dime. Second, that little bottle is often dried out and not even usable. From first hand knowledge, again, I can tell you that anything that improves the taste of MRE’s is a welcome treat. In fact, anything that even changes the flavor is welcome.
