Mad Dog 357 Collector Hot Sauce (600k Scoville Units)
This is one seriously hot sauce, but it also actually has a lot of flavor. That’ a good thing if your taste buds survive the heat. After all, you don’t just want a rush of heat that leaves the taste of battery acid in your mouth. You want to start out with and finish with a great tasting hot sauce.
Mad Dog 357 Collector Hot Sauce is sure to make even the bravest of chileheads sweat at the thought of trying it. Weighing in at 600,000 Scoville units, it’s hot enough to make grown men cry, and does so nearly every day at the Peppers of Key West tasting bar. When you first taste this sauce (on the end of a toothpick, if you know what’s good for you), you get a flash of sweetness from the cane juice that’s used to balance the extract, then after about ten seconds the heat kicks in and continues to burn for around six minutes. It even has a liability release printed on the label and they mean it.
At Peppers of Key West, Mad Dog 357 Hot Sauce is the hottest hot sauce we sample for our guests here at the tasting bar. There’s good reason for that- most folks don’t even make it to the Mad Dog 357 and anything hotter would just hurt a lot of people. The heat is just the fun part, but it’s no fun if it’s not worth the taste too.
Mr. David Ashley is… well… Ashley Foods and the creator of the ballisticly hot Mad Dog 357 brand. Based in Sudbury, Massachusetts, of all places, Mr. Ashley began his Mad Dog 357 trip in 1991 and has been one of the “hottest” hot sauce pioneers since then. Having won over 50 local, state, national, and, interesting, several international, awards the Mad Dog 357 arsenal provides fantastic flavors and holy shit levels of heat to enhance the flavors of practically any meal. Our military friends that have packages shipped overseas frequently request the Mad Dog 357 products because a drop or two goes a long way.
The Mad Dog 357 arsenal includes a relatively mild Mad Dog 357 Green Amigo all the way up to a potentially life threatening (not really) 9,000,000 Scoville Heat Unit Plutonium Pepper Extract. Our best selling pepper extract and the hottest sauce a customer can sample in our store, is the Mad Dog 357 Collector’s Edition rated at 600,000 Scoville Heat Units. Quite frankly, I am afraid to sample anything hotter to a customer without requesting that they sign a waiver.
Because of the extreme heat levels reached with Mr. Ashley’s Mad Dog 357 products, all of his options are made in small batch production runs to ensure quality and consistency. The variety of Mad Dog 357 sauces and extracts contain all natural ingredients – fresh picked peppers, unsulphered molasses, vine ripened tomatoes and the rare Peri Peri Pepper picked directly from African crops.
Give any of our Mad Dog 357 sauces a try – they will have your taste buds bouncing like Mexican jumping beans.
