Ingredients:
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (NOT Evaporated)
  • 1/8th tsp. finely ground sea salt
  • 2 tbsp. Peppers of Key West Goin’ Bananas Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. salted butter
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pint of your favorite brand of vanilla ice cream
  • 2 fresh bananas – sliced lengthwise – as garnish (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled-up frosted flakes as garnish (optional)
Directions:
  1. Pour sweetened condensed milk into glass pie plate and stir in sea salt.
  2. Set the pie plate within a roasting pan and add hot water to halfway up the side of the pie plate.
  3. Cover the pie plate snugly with aluminum foil and bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. (Check a few times during baking and add more water to the roasting pan as necessary).
  4. When caramelized, remove from the oven and add Peppers of Key West is Goin’ Bananas, vanilla, cinnamon, and butter.
  5. Whisk vigorously until smooth and then let cool.
  6. Serve with ice cream and garnishes.

Variation – Instead of the traditional Goin Bananas, Use Peppers of Key West with Rum.

Promptly refrigerate any unused portion for up to one week.
