Guyank Sweet Hot Pepper Sauce has an interesting story behind it. The word Guyank is a mash up of Guyana and Yankee. The people behind the name are a married couple, the wife from Guyana and the husband from the Northeast US (the Yankee). The husband is a nuclear medicine technologist by trade and fell in love with a "secret pepper" his wife introduced him to. The two took their respective tastes and native ingredients and created a sauce that is as unique as it is tasty and spicy. The combination of peppers, fruit, spices, and even mustard they used will leave you wanting more, after the burn fades a bit that is.

Coming in at a 5 out of 10 on the Peppers of Key West Heat Level Rating Scale, this is not a sauce for the faint of heart. The folks at Guyank describe the heat as "unforgiving" and we would agree that it can feel quite angry if you're not accustomed to hot hot sauces. If you are though, you'll get to appreciate the deep flavors and complex combinations of this hot sauce.
